Are you an experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding new opportunity?

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a mainstream secondary school in Bolton that is looking for a dedicated and experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a secondary-aged pupil.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous mainstream secondary school experience who is passionate about building positive relationships and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.

You will provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day, working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider pastoral team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support in lessons and around school.
• Helping the pupil access and engage with the curriculum.
• Supporting concentration, organisation and independence.
• Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Building a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil.
• Working closely with teaching and SEN staff to support the pupil's progress.

Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, behavioural difficulties or communication needs would be beneficial.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a 1:1 SEN TA, Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant.
• Experience working in a mainstream secondary school.
• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs.
• A patient, calm and consistent approach.
• The ability to establish positive boundaries and build trust.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people.
