Bury | Full time, permanent | £40,000 – £50,000 DOE

A growing accountancy practice in Bury is looking for a Management Accountant to join its team. The firm provides high level fractional finance support — Finance Controllers, Finance Directors, Management Accountants, Bookkeepers, Payroll Officers and Credit Controllers — to small and medium sized businesses across the North West.

You’d take charge of your own portfolio of four to seven clients and own their management accounting entirely. It’s a role with real autonomy: you’re not buried in a corner of a finance team, you’re the person those businesses come to for answers.

The role

• Producing customised management accounts for each client
• Commercial accounting and business intelligence
• Reconciling balance sheet accounts
• Analysing gross profitability by project, product or revenue stream
• Clear variance analysis and performance commentary
• Leading monthly and quarterly client meetings
• Delivering KPI dashboards
• Maintaining cashflow forecasts and budgets
• Providing commercial insight
• VAT returns and forecasting work
• Supporting the bookkeeping team

The profile

• 5 years’ or more experience in a similar role, with relevant qualifications
• Strong management accounts preparation experience
• Sage 50 and Xero experience — both essential
• Full competency with Outlook and Excel
• Confident presenting financial information and meeting clients on site
• Accountancy practice background is an advantage
• Friendly, grounded and trustworthy
