Job Description:

1:1 Teaching Assistant - Primary - Bolton

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking caring and committed Teaching Assistants for one-to-one support roles within primary schools in Bolton.

These positions are suited to people who enjoy working closely with individual pupils and helping them make progress both academically and personally.

You may be supporting a child who requires additional help with communication, concentration, social interaction, behaviour or accessing classroom activities. The exact requirements will vary between schools and pupils.

Working alongside the class teacher and SEN team, you will help implement appropriate strategies and encourage the pupil to participate as fully as possible in school life.

The role may involve:

• Providing dedicated one-to-one classroom support
• Helping pupils access lessons and activities
• Supporting communication and social development
• Encouraging independence
• Reinforcing positive behaviour
• Delivering individual or small-group activities
• Monitoring engagement and progress
• Working with teachers and pastoral staff

The ideal candidate will be patient and observant, with the ability to recognise when a pupil needs additional support. You should also be confident maintaining professional boundaries and following the school's safeguarding procedures.

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant is desirable, particularly experience supporting SEN, although relevant experience from childcare, care or youth work may also be considered.
